Michael Mercieca is a Certified Public Accountant and also successfully read for both the Diploma in Taxation offered by The Malta Institute of Taxation and the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) offered by the Malta Institute of Management. Michael worked within different sections of Deloitte Malta's tax department including the corporate tax, compliance and immigration teams. From 2014 to 2017 Michael headed up the 'personal tax and employer services' team at Deloitte Malta. Michael is a tax lecturer for various service providers in Malta, an ACCA tax lecturer and is a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta. Michael also sits on the Direct Tax Committee of the Malta Institute of Taxation and on the Taxation Committee of the Malta Institute of Accountants.
